Of all the fringe championship contenders, Ryan Newman put himself in the best position to advance in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs with a 10th-place finish on Sunday at the South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Newman still isn’t above the cutline but left Vegas just six points out of a transfer spot. He enjoyed an uneventful day while several higher seeds each experienced problems which severely impacted their chances to advance to the Round of 12. "We needed track position but most importantly we needed to get our Oscar Meyer Ford Mustang tightened up and we finally did toward the last run," Newman said. "We still finished loose but we fought really hard with being loose all day long and this is not a good place to be loose. It is a challenge. I am surprised we were as loose as we were but we had a good car and made some decent points but not the day that we wanted to have." And yet, the days were much better than the ones experienced by Kurt Busch … [Read more...] about NASCAR playoffs outlook after Las Vegas
After months of rumors and speculation, the iPhone 11 is finally here. In this week's Apple Core wrap, let's see how the new phones stack up compared to last year's models and see what extras you may get if you're upgrading from an older iPhone. We won't know for sure which is the "best" of the new bunch until after we've tested and reviewed them, so stay tuned. But in the meantime, here's what we know.iPhone 11 and 11 Pro get design tweaksApple has changed up its naming convention this year and its new 2019 flagship phone is now known as the 11 Pro (and 11 Pro Max) rather than the roman numeral XS. Looking at both phones from the front, there's no obvious differences between the 11 Pro and the phone it replaces, the XS. Size-wise, they're the same with a 5.8-inch display, or 6.5-inches for the Max models. The new phones have a super retina XDR display, which is still OLED, but Apple says it's brighter: 800 nits in bright sunlight and up to 1,200 nits when viewing content like … [Read more...] about iPhone 11 Pro: To upgrade or not
Apple's latest iPhones pack plenty of improvements. They're more durable, they're faster and their cameras are much more capable. At $699, the iPhone 11 is even cheaper than last year's iPhone XR, at its $749 starting price. Yet one thing hasn't changed: All new iPhones start with 64GB of storage space. On the surface that's … fine. Two years ago Apple bumped up the storage on the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X to a 64GB minimum -- a welcome upgrade from the prior base option of 32GB (which itself took years to reach). In an era when music and movies are streamed and photos are saved in the cloud, you can even argue that local storage is an antiquated system. It's a valid argument if you're constantly making sure your photos are being uploaded to Google Photos or iCloud and are always connected to the internet to stream YouTube, Netflix, Spotify or Apple Music. But most people don't do that and plenty prefer the option to have music and photos at the ready whenever they … [Read more...] about iPhone storage: 64GB just isn’t enough anymore
“What’s the fastest Lamborghini?” This question is probably asked every 5 minutes at one of our events. So we decided to actually dig into the numbers and discuss how they were calculated. And we’re keeping this to the fastest Lamborghini car. The LM002 and the Urus don’t compare to their main products. We’re not talking about twin turbo aftermarket cars or the Huracan GT3. This is a quest for the fastest production Lamborghini. We could have done this with one phone call, but Mr. Balboni is getting ready for Monterey.Article Originally Published on July 30, 2018 Every car on this page is AWD, and automatic. The single-clutch automatic was known as e-gear, and their latest models are all dual-clutch 7-speed automatics. First up are the 0-60 times. The Murcielago was one of the first supercars to have launch control, which was appropriately named “Thrust Mode”.
