Prince Charles praises NHS staff while visiting injured survivors of London Bridge terror attack in hospital
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall paid a hospital visit to people injured in the London Bridge terror attack. Prince Charles and Camilla expressed their admiration for the work of NHS medical staff and volunteers in the aftermath of the tragic incident, during a visit to the Royal London Hospital. The Duchess said their dedication showed "Britain at its best". Seven people have been killed and 48 were injured when terrorists Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane, and Youssef Zaghba ran innocent victims down in a van before getting out and stabbing people at random. Of the wounded, 32 are currently being cared for in London hospitals, 15 of whom remain in a critical condition. After the attack, the injured were also sent to Kings College Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas', University College London Hospitals, and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Charles and Camilla visited the Royal London Hospital, where 12 injured victims were taken on Saturday night. The royal couple were … [Read more...] about Prince Charles praises NHS staff while visiting injured survivors of London Bridge terror attack in hospital
Nobody’s Cellphone Is Really That Secure
Earlier this week, The New York Times reported that the Russians and the Chinese were eavesdropping on President Donald Trump’s personal cellphone and using the information gleaned to better influence his behavior. This should surprise no one. Security experts have been talking about the potential security vulnerabilities in Trump’s cellphone use since he became president. And President Barack Obama bristled at—but acquiesced to—the security rules prohibiting him from using a “regular” cellphone throughout his presidency.Three broader questions obviously emerge from the story. Who else is listening in on Trump’s cellphone calls? What about the cellphones of other world leaders and senior government officials? And—most personal of all—what about my cellphone calls? There are two basic places to eavesdrop on pretty much any communications system: at the end points and during transmission. This means that a cellphone attacker can either … [Read more...] about Nobody’s Cellphone Is Really That Secure

OXFORD, Miss. — In LSU’s huge win over Alabama last Saturday, Joe Burrow became only the fourth quarterback in program history to throw for 3,000 yards in a season.By the end of that game, Burrow had climbed into second place on LSU’s single-season list with 3,198 yards — just 149 yards behind Rohan Davey, who threw for 3,347 yards in 13 games in 2001.It didn't take long for Burrow to jump Davey in Saturday night's matchup with Ole Miss in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, which LSU won 58-37.Burrow surpassed Davey with 1:34 remaining in the first quarter with a 18-yard pass to Ja'Marr Chase. At that point, Burrow had 3,354 yards.Burrow was far from finished, however, as he wound up throwing for a career-high 489 yards — surpassing the 471 yards he had at Texas on Sept. 7 — to increase his season total to 3,687 yards in just 10 games. CU Buffs football opponent preview: Mike Leach has Washington State rolling
A year ago, expectations were low for Washington State’s football team. After losing the program’s all-time leading passer and featuring the Pac-12’s least experienced team, the Cougars seemed destined for their worst year since 2014. Instead, head coach Mike Leach and quarterback Gardner Minshew directed the Cougars to a program-record 11 wins. Minshew is gone after his one spectacular season on the Palouse, but Leach has got his program humming along entering his eighth season. This month, BuffZone.com is previewing each of Colorado’s opponents, with this installment focusing on Washington State, which will host the Buffaloes on Oct. 19 in Pullman, Wash. After years of struggles, Wazzu has become a consistent winner under Leach. The Cougars are one of only four teams in the conference to reach bowls in the last four years, along with Stanford, Utah and Washington. They have more wins in the last four years (37-15) than in the 10 years before that (36-85 from … [Read more...] about CU Buffs football opponent preview: Mike Leach has Washington State rolling
