The Mystics took the very entertaining series, 3-1, with a Game 4 victory Tuesday night, and are headed to a WNBA Finals matchup with the Connecticut Sun. Freshly minted WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne fueled the league’s best offense with 25 points on 5-for-7 shooting from three, but more importantly, Natasha Cloud started doing push-ups on the Aces’ court moments after dispatching her opponents. Cloud was clearly fired up by the taunt, and she called her shot in advance. … [Read more...] about Liz Cambage Talked Trash To The Washington Mystics And They Gave It Right Back To Her
The Liberty built around her and used Charles as linchpin of one of the league’s top defenses. Offensively, they surrounded her with shooters, got some bigs to do the heavy lifting on the boards, and let her go to work. And that plan nearly worked in 2015. The Liberty went 23-11, finishing atop the Eastern Conference. They’d traded Cappie Pondexter, a ball-stopping scorer, for Epiphanny Prince, another New York prep legend and a tremendous scorer in her own right. (She’d once scored 113 points in a high school game and was one of the few stars of Charles’s caliber to come out of the city in some time.) They had young Brittany Boyd to run the point, Tanisha Wright and Sugar Rodgers from distance, Kiah Stokes and Carolyn Swords to crash the boards. … [Read more...] about Tina Charles Came Home To Win A Title. I really want to get a new gaming laptop. I need a laptop because I spend a lot of time in and out of the hospital. Or I put it in different rooms. Portability is nice, but it doesn’t have to be crazy light, I like the Surface Book 2 but it seems like the specs aren’t worth the money, so I’ve been eyeing an MSI GS65. … [Read more...] about Buy Committee: Which Gaming Laptop Should I Buy?
When we asked you guys how you decided on your desk, many responded by saying in good old Lifehacker fashion, “Just build it!” The benefit of this approach is the customizability and possible savings, but you need to be at least a little handy to do this well. Factory-refurbished Macs and iDevices are so impressive, one CNET blogger recommends always buying refurbished Apple products instead of new ones, because he "thinks most Apple hardware is overpriced—and sees refurbs as a rare opportunity to get it for less." … [Read more...] about The Best Brands for Refurbished Electronics
Why You Need to Be Careful Buying Refurbished from Other Places You can buy refurbished electronics from other places, but you have to be a bit more wary. I'm sad to say my personal experience buying refurbished gadgets has been a horror story, in two cases. At a discount appliance store chain, my father bought me an "open box" television for college (my dad's frugal, and he rocks). That thing could not hold a signal for its life. Naive as we were at the time, we were convinced by the salesman's explanation that the open box label just meant the customers had looked inside the package and returned it right away. When we had plugged it in at the store it worked, but of course it didn't work miles away at college, and the TV was bought "as is." Moral of the story: Avoid buying refurbished products "as is." … [Read more...] about When Should I Buy Refurbished Electronics?
