Most Saturday mornings Kurt Kahl is in a rush. Either the high-adrenaline rush from riding his mountain bike or the rush from taking off on the perfect head-high wave on his surfboard. “I tell people that our team designed the Telluride to be the kind of vehicle we would want to own,” he says. “Something that would work with my lifestyle. Something big enough to take all my gear. Something with three rows for my wife and I to take friends out for a fun night.” As senior design manager at Kia Design Center America, in Irvine, California, Kahl leads the team that conceptualized and created the new, three-row, Telluride. “Pretty much the entire design team here is into adventure sports,” he says. “We live to ride bikes, surf waves, hike trails.” He says he designed the Telluride accordingly, so it had to be big and practical, with no coupe-like rear end compromising load space or headroom. Take out the tape measure and you get an idea of … [Read more...] about SPONSORED CONTENT: Making the New Kia Telluride

Breathtaking -- for some people. Anna Yu/Getty Images Who doesn't love a good, perfectly cooked steak? OK, vegetarians don't. And cows probably don't, either. There are benefits and drawbacks to a diet that includes red meat and a seemingly endless debate over eating it. Red meat is packed with iron and protein, important sources of nutrients and essential to tissue and muscle fiber. On the other hand, a recent landmark study of 500,000 Americans found that the people who eat the most red meat are more likely to die (especially from cancer and heart disease) than the people who eat the least [source: Brody]. The study results are probably far from surprising for some; other smaller and less refined studies have yielded similar results for decades. This hasn't stopped American's love for red meat, though; rates of meat consumption have doubled in the country since the 1960s. But there's another study out there that might give red meat eaters pause. In 2006, an anthropological … [Read more...] about How does diet affect body odor?
The Galaxy S10 is coming in 2019. And Samsung desperately needs it to be an unmitigated blockbuster. As the world's largest phone manufacturer, Samsung has a great deal riding on the 10th edition of its flagship Galaxy S series. Given this, the rumors -- and there are many of them -- are accordingly frothy. A chorus of analysts, pundits and leakers are painting a picture of a Galaxy S10 jam-packed with potentially extraordinary features, including an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, the company's own take on Face ID and an Infinity-O display. If the stories are accurate, Samsung could have a hit -- and secure its place at the top of the smartphone heap. When the Galaxy S10 arrives, it may look something like this 23 Photos If not, the road ahead could be difficult. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, introduced back in February, haven't sold particularly well. Slowing phone sales are now a threat to every brand. And China's Huawei, which … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy S10 rumors: Everything we know about a Feb. 20 launch, March 8 release, specs, features and price
Jalopnik Reviews All of our test drives in one convenient place. Most of us North Americans probably only witnessed this car in video games. For many, the Renault Sport Clio V6 never actually existed outside of Gran Turismo. I mean, why would a dorky little compact car shaped like a cartoon with a V6 engine where the back seats should be even be a thing? Yet, it is. A very capable one too. Even by France’s strict standards of making things weird and different, the Clio V6 was an outrageous car. Hell, I’m French myself and I find this thing a bit much. The simple fact that this contraption even made it in a showroom at all feels like some sort of glitch in the automotive Matrix. I’ve personally always been very intrigued by this voiture (and I’m sure you are too), so I took one out for a drive to witness the anomaly in the flesh. Turns out it was exactly how I pictured it: unusual, cool, a bit scary, and very French, all at once. (Full Disclosure: the … [Read more...] about The Mid-Engine 2001 Renault Sport Clio V6 Is Just As Unreal As You Imagine
Soda contains ingredients that can harm your skin. ©Thinkstock If you had acne as a teen, you probably heard a million times that you should stay away from junk foods like soda and potato chips. And while mom was right that these foods are unhealthy, the relationship between diet and acne is still unclear. According to Amy Wechsler, M.D., a New York-based dermatologist, the origin of acne is more complicated than food. "The root of virtually all acne is genetics, hormones, stress and inflammation," she says. But that doesn't mean you can drink all the soda you want and have a clear, glowing complexion. "While there is no direct evidence that soda causes pimples, some ingredients may trigger the body to produce acne," says Jody Levine, M.D., assistant clinical instructor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. For example, soda is loaded with refined sugar—and eating or drinking high glycemic foods (such as soda) can lead to increases in … [Read more...] about Quick Tips: Does soda cause breakouts?
