Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai has announced a major feature in the Google Chrome browser. With the rise in phishing attacks, Google has announced a new safety feature in Chrome that will warn users if their login credentials were stolen after they had entered them on a website that they are browsing using the Chrome browser. "To help keep you safe online, @googlechrome will now warn if your username & password have been compromised when you type them into a website. We’re also enhancing phishing protections to be real-time on desktop to alert you when visiting malicious sites," tweeted Pichai. The new security feature was first introduced in February this year with a tool called Password Checkup as an optional Google Chrome extension. Now, Google has simply made this extension mainstream.
