Get into the groove: ranking Madonna’s #1 songs
With all due respect (and possible future apologies) to Beyoncé, whose path recently overlapped with hers on the “Vogue”-sampling “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix),” Madonna is set this week to remind the world why she is the best-selling female recording artist of all time and one of the most influential stars in pop history . Even without torch-passing MTV “triple kisses” with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, or the conspicuous similarities between “Express Yourself” and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” the single-monikered singer, songwriter, and actress has made a singular and irrefutable impact on music, videos, stage performance, filmmaking, and the very notion of celebrity. Madonna has the most number one singles by a woman in Australia, Canada, Italy, Spain, and the U.K., holds the number two spot on U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, and has the highest grosses of any worldwide-touring female artist. The compilation Finally Enough Love , due on August 19, … [Read more...] about Get into the groove: ranking Madonna’s #1 songs

The Yankees are so horrendous, fans would rather cut hair than watch them
After starting the year on fire, the Yankees have cooled tremendously recently. They no longer hold the best record in the American League. The team has lost 11 of their last 13, and fans are so disappointed in their Bronx Bombers that I wouldn’t be shocked if the team’s subreddit morphs back into a fan page exclusively for Yankee Candles like it did in 2020 . Pau Gasol is absolutely an all-time Laker great
Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals was a rock fight. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Boston Celtics were leading the Los Angeles Lakers 57-55. Kobe Bryant’s shooting performance — he was 6-for-24 — wasn’t the only stinker in the box score from that night. Ray Allen, the hero of the 2013 NBA Finals for the Miami Heat, shot 21.4 percent from the field and went 2-for-7 from three. Paul Pierce went 5-for-15 from the field, and the player who took the most shots in that game was Ron “Metta World Peace” Artest, who put down 7 of 18 and scored 20 points. How to Enlarge a Virtual Machine’s Disk in VirtualBox or VMware
When you create a virtual hard disk in VirtualBox or VMware, you specify a maximum disk size. If you want more space on your virtual machine’s hard disk later, you’ll have to enlarge the virtual hard disk and partition. Note that you may want to back up your virtual hard disk file before performing these operations — there’s always a chance something can go wrong, so it’s always good to have backups. However, the process worked fine for us. Update: Use the Virtual Media Manager in VirtualBox VirtualBox 6 added a graphical option for enlarging and resizing virtual disks. To access it, click File > Virtual Media Manager in the main VirtualBox window. Select a virtual hard disk in the list and use the “Size” slider at the bottom of the window to change its size. Click “Apply” when you’re done. You will still have to enlarge the partition on the disk to take advantage of the additional space. The partition remains the same size even while the disk size increases. See … [Read more...] about How to Enlarge a Virtual Machine’s Disk in VirtualBox or VMware
