Part of the appeal (and occasional frustration) of Adult Swim’s Rick And Morty is that it can functionally be a show about anything; one blast of Rick’s portal gun, or some wild new invention, and Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon, and the rest of the show’s writers can make any episode about pretty much anything. (If all else fails, there’s always an alternate reality Even so, the announcement today that the network was giving a greenlight to Rick And Morty: The Anime was a bit of a noodle-twister. Some nifty short films? Sure. A full episode? We can see it. An entire Huh . And yet that’s exactly what Adult Swim announced today, as part of its portion of Warner Media’s upfronts. Specifically, Tower Of God and also the two extant Rick And Morty anime shorts, “Rick And Morty Vs. Genocider” and just began writing on its eighth season this week , apparently, because Adult Swim knows where the money is.) Warner Bros.’ Multiversus features Maisie Williams as Arya Stark
Not even a month ago, we wrote about a rumored new video game from Warner Bros. that would combine a bunch of characters from the movies and TV shows it owns into a Space Jam: A New Legacy -style Super Smash Bros. clone called Multiversus —meaning that characters like Batman and Superman could fight Bugs Bunny and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo . Now, courtesy of IGN , we know that Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that Multiversus is both real and slightly more bizarre that we ever expected due to the inclusion of notable voice actors. Kevin Conroy will be voicing Batman and George Newbern will be Superman (for you Justice League Unlimited fans), with Tara Strong as Harley Quinn, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, John DiMaggio as Jake The Dog from Adventure Time , and Eric Bauza as Bugs Bunny (he stepped into the rabbit’s big feet for the new Space Jam ). Oh, also, freakin’ Maisie Williams is coming back to voice Arya Stark from Game Of Thrones in this … [Read more...] about Warner Bros.’ Multiversus features Maisie Williams as Arya Stark
Here’s the first trailer for Disney Plus’ She-Hulk: Attorney At Law
Alright Moon Knight , take your laughable Bri’ish accents and your gloomy tone and get out of here, it’s time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get completely wacky with She-Hulk: Attorney At Law . Disney just released the first trailer for the Disney+ series, giving us our first look at Tatiana Maslany as the eponymous super-lawyer, and fans of the character will be pleased to know that it seems like she’s going to be spending a lot of time in her She-Hulk form (as is tradition for the character in the comics). Assuming you can tolerate the CG on her She-Hulk form... which will hopefully be a little more palatable once you get used to it. The MCU is maintaining the comics canon that She-Hulk (a.k.a. attorney Jennifer Walters) is the cousin of Bruce Banner, who is still in the Professor Hulk form we saw in Avengers: Endgame (though the arm that got all burned up when he used the Infinity Stones seems to have healed, making his Shang-Chi cameo even more … [Read more...] about Here’s the first trailer for Disney Plus’ She-Hulk: Attorney At Law
Angelyne injects pure joy into an L.A. legend
At the start of Peacock’s Angelyne , the mononymous celeb informs her audience: “I am not a woman. I’m an icon.” She repeats the words, her voiceover hypnotically hanging above pastel-pink credits. “I am not a woman. I’m an icon.” With a flutter of her fuchsia eyelids, executive producer and star Emmy Rossum suddenly appears as the walking-talking cult classic and self-appointed “Queen Of The Universe.” The actor channels multiple eras of Angelyne for the sparkling five-part miniseries, but plays her older and more vulnerable in the beginning–soft yet fabulous, like glitter mixed with talcum powder. “I am not a woman,” Angelyne says once more, this time steeling herself in a moment of fleeting insecurity. “I’m an icon. Read it.” But who is she? Based in part on Gary Baum’s 2017 exposé of Angelyne for The Hollywood Reporter –it’s directly quoted by Angelyne Fan Club President Rick Krause (Hamish Linklater) in the remainder of that tense opening scene– Angelyne … [Read more...] about Angelyne injects pure joy into an L.A. legend

Scott Dixon Breaks The Pole Speed Record For The Indianapolis 500
The twelve fastest drivers from Saturday’s running advanced into Sunday’s two-round shootout for pole position. Chip Ganassi Racing advanced all five of its entries to Sunday, Álex Palou, Tony Kanaan, Jimmie Johnson, Marcus Ericsson and Scott Dixon. The best opposition the Chevrolet-powered teams could muster against Ganassi-Honda supremacy were the McLarens of Pato O’Ward and Felix Rosenqvist and the Ed Carpenter Racing cars of Rinus VeeKay and team owner Ed Carpenter.
