Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 Review: A Business Laptop With a Pleasing Personality
Is it just me, or do laptops that are classified as “business laptops” just look plain and simple boring? Bereft of any personality, colour and look like their entire existence is meant for a purpose of being slaves in the corporate world? Realme sold 15 million handsets in 1st year of operation, targets to double it in 2020: CEO
Chinese handset maker Realme has become the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India, selling 15 million handsets in the very first year of its operations and is targeting to double the sales next year, its CEO Madhav Sheth said.Realme, which began as an Oppo sub-brand in May 2018, was promptly spun off into a standalone entity and is now taking on bigger rival Xiaomi with similar price points and segments of ₹7,000-20,000 phones.Unlike other Chinese players like Vivo and Oppo, which are offline-focussed with investments in channel marketing and offline distribution, Realme aped the strategy of the market leader closely and focussed on online from the start.Sheth, who founded the company together with BBK Group, said Realme is ranked seventh fastest growing smartphone brand globally. “We will end 2019, the first full year of our operations, with sales of 15 million handsets. We are targeting to at least double this in 2020,” he told PTI. Realme X phones | … [Read more...] about Realme sold 15 million handsets in 1st year of operation, targets to double it in 2020: CEO

NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister’s Office has sought details from the telecom department of the process being followed in the proposed Idea Cellular-Vodafone India merger amid delays in deal closure, people aware of the development said. The development comes even as initial approval to the deal looks set to get pushed back further, with the department of telecommunications (DoT) seeking more clarifications from its legal experts on the dues to be claimed from the two telcos. The two companies, and even DoT, had previously said they expect the deal to be cleared by June-end. According to people aware of the development, senior officers of DoT had recently given an in-person explanation to PMO on the present status and the process being followed before approving the sector’s biggest merger deal, which will create the country’s largest mobile phone operator. “The PMO has been apprised of the issues at hand, and DoT has explained that it is proceeding as per legal … [Read more...] about Why Vodafone-Idea merger delay has PMO worried
Airtel, Vodafone-Idea made no provisions for AGR disputed amount
A study of the balance sheets of private telecom operators, namely Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, show that they did not declare the disputed amounts under the levy of annual gross revenues (AGR) as 'provisions in their books. The Supreme Court recently ruled that telcos have to pay approximately Rs 92,000 crore to Department of Telecommunications (DoT) as revenue share on AGR computation. According to telecom regulator Trai sources, 15 per cent AGR was fixed as licence fee under "revenue sharing" which was reduced to 13 per cent, and lastly to 8 per cent in 2013. It appears that the revenue sharing package turned out to be very beneficial to the telecom service providers, which is evident from the continuing rise in gross revenues, sources said. In 2004, telecom service providers (TSP) earned gross revenues of Rs 4,855 crore which, by 2015, has undergone a quantum jump to Rs 2.37 lakh crore. Analysts have also looked at the Accounting Standard 37 in view of reported assertions … [Read more...] about Airtel, Vodafone-Idea made no provisions for AGR disputed amount
