When you create a virtual hard disk in VirtualBox or VMware, you specify a maximum disk size. If you want more space on your virtual machine’s hard disk later, you’ll have to enlarge the virtual hard disk and partition. Note that you may want to back up your virtual hard disk file before performing these operations — there’s always a chance something can go wrong, so it’s always good to have backups. However, the process worked fine for us. Update: Use the Virtual Media Manager in VirtualBox VirtualBox 6 added a graphical option for enlarging and resizing virtual disks. To access it, click File > Virtual Media Manager in the main VirtualBox window. Select a virtual hard disk in the list and use the “Size” slider at the bottom of the window to change its size. Click “Apply” when you’re done. You will still have to enlarge the partition on the disk to take advantage of the additional space. The partition remains the same size even while the disk size increases. See … [Read more...] about How to Enlarge a Virtual Machine’s Disk in VirtualBox or VMware

Visible is a popular mobile network in the United States owned by Verizon (and using the company’s network), with cheaper unlimited phone plans and a focus on paying as a group. Now the carrier is switching up its plans. Visible only had one mobile plan before now, which was priced at $40 per month and included unlimited talk and text, unlimited 4G/5G data on Verizon’s “5G Nationwide” network, calling to Mexico and Canada at no extra cost, and unlimited tethering data. There were a few small restrictions, like tether data speeds being limited to 5 Mbps , but it was one of the best deals in the US wireless industry. Visible also supported “party pay,” where you could connect multiple people on the same plan (like a family plan, but more independent) to drop the price to $25/month per line. RELATED What Is 5G, and How Fast Is It? The new base Visible plan is $30/month, and appears to be identical to the previous plan, but now $10 cheaper. However, party pay is … [Read more...] about Unlimited Verizon Data Is Now $30/Month, Through Visible
If you’re a teacher or you have a kid interested in programming, it can be confusing to sort out the dozens of options available. We’ve picked five great programming languages (and environments) that will give kids a head start in the world of software development. The Language Isn’t as Important as the Motivation Before we get started, it’s important to know that, arguably, the specific programming language your child uses isn’t as important as the motivation they have to achieve a certain goal, such as creating a game, solving a problem, or creating an app. Once your child learns a programming language, many of the concepts can transfer easily to other languages (with differences in syntax ), so you almost can’t go wrong—as long as your kid has the enthusiasm to learn. Although this is by no means an exhaustive or definitive list, you’ll be off … [Read more...] about 5 Great Programming Languages for Kids
